Lucy is an eleven week old french brittany puppy being introduced to gunfire for the first time. Each time she is in prey drive in pursuit of the quail she has been found the shotgun is fired. This helps the dog associate gun fire with the motivational retrieve. You can see she never even flinches.

Covey is a one year old French Brittany who is working the motivational retrieve, bird and gun introduction. She has 4 really nice finds and two really nice retrieves from her first hunt! Covey is a rising star in the French Brittany community, and it's not hard to see why. At just one year old, she has already shown exceptional talent in the world of hunting and retrieval. With her breeder by her side, Covey has been training hard to perfect her skills in the motivational retrieve, bird and gun introduction. And her efforts have paid off – during this hunt, she had an impressive four finds and two stellar retrieves! Yesterday she found and retrieved 7 quail. But Covey isn't just skilled – she also has a bright and friendly personality that makes her stand out among other dogs. As we all know, starting off the new year on a positive note is important for setting the tone for the rest of the year. And what better way to do that than by spending time outside with these energetic pups? Today, thanks to a break in the cold and snow, we took them out for their very first playtime in the sunshine. As they ran around and explored their surroundings, it was clear that they were having an absolute blast. And while they were busy having fun, we also took this opportunity to introduce them to quail for the first time imprinting the game bird scent in their young developing brains.
